Terms of Use.

Last updated: 28 August 2026

1. Agreement to these Terms

These Terms of Use (the "Terms") form a binding agreement between you and the operator of Canvas Map, available at canvasmap.io (the "Service", "we", "us"). By accessing or using the Service — including in guest mode, without creating an account — you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted these Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Service.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version becomes effective when published on this page, and your continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance of the changes.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 16 years old, or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction, to use the Service. When you create an account you agree to provide accurate information, to keep your credentials confidential, and to be solely responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at shladov@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorised use.

3. The Service

Canvas Map provides an infinite visual canvas for images, notes, sketches and similar content, with optional cloud storage and sharing features. The Service is currently offered free of charge. We may add, change, suspend, limit or discontinue any part of the Service, including features, storage limits or free access, at any time and without prior notice.

Guest boards are stored only in your browser's local storage. They are not backed up by us, and they may be lost if you clear browser data, use a private window, switch browsers or devices, or if your browser evicts stored data. Guest mode is provided for evaluation purposes only and should not be used for content you cannot afford to lose.

4. Your content

You retain all ownership rights in the images, text, drawings and other materials you upload or create ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, transmit and display Your Content solely for the purpose of operating, securing and providing the Service to you and to the people you share a board with.

You represent and warrant that you own Your Content or hold all necessary rights, licences and permissions to upload it, and that Your Content does not infringe any third-party intellectual property, privacy or other rights, and does not violate any applicable law. You are solely responsible for Your Content and for maintaining your own independent backups of it.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • upload or share unlawful, infringing, defamatory, hateful, harassing or sexually exploitative content;
  • upload malware or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other accounts or our infrastructure;
  • reverse engineer, scrape, overload, disrupt or circumvent any technical or security measure of the Service;
  • resell, sublicense or commercially exploit the Service without our prior written consent;
  • violate the privacy or data-protection rights of any person.

We may investigate suspected violations and may remove content, suspend or terminate access, or refuse service, at our discretion and without liability to you.

6. Sharing and collaboration

When you invite others to a board you determine their permission level (for example viewer or editor). You are responsible for deciding whom to invite and for the consequences of sharing. Anyone you grant access to may be able to view, copy, export or — depending on the role — modify or delete the board's content. We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of collaborators you invite.

7. Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party providers for hosting, authentication, storage, email delivery and similar functions. Their availability and performance are outside our control, and we are not liable for their acts, omissions, outages or security incidents.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITH ALL FAULTS AND WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, AND UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT CONTENT WILL NOT BE LOST, ALTERED OR CORRUPTED, THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE SECURE, OR THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE — INCLUDING the operator of Canvas Map and its owners, employees, contractors, suppliers and licensors — SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, GOODWILL, BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, DATA, CONTENT OR BOARDS, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE SERVICE — EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES AND REGARDLESS OF THE LEGAL THEORY (CONTRACT, TORT, NEGLIGENCE, STRICT LIABILITY OR OTHERWISE).

WITHOUT LIMITING THE ABOVE, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR: (a) LOSS, DELETION, CORRUPTION OR UNAVAILABILITY OF ANY BOARD, IMAGE, NOTE, SKETCH OR OTHER CONTENT, INCLUDING GUEST BOARDS STORED IN YOUR BROWSER; (b) UNAUTHORISED ACCESS TO YOUR ACCOUNT OR CONTENT; (c) DOWNTIME, INTERRUPTIONS OR CHANGES TO THE SERVICE; (d) THE CONDUCT OR CONTENT OF OTHER USERS OR COLLABORATORS; OR (e) ANY DECISION YOU MAKE IN RELIANCE ON THE SERVICE.

OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (i) THE TOTAL AMOUNTS YOU ACTUALLY PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (ii) USD 50. BECAUSE THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED FREE OF CHARGE, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THIS ALLOCATION OF RISK IS A FUNDAMENTAL BASIS OF THIS AGREEMENT.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, such as liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, or death or personal injury caused by negligence. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you; in that case our liability is limited to the smallest extent permitted by law.

10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify, defend and hold us harmless from and against any claims, demands, damages, losses, liabilities, costs and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to Your Content, your use of the Service, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms or if we reasonably believe your use creates legal or security risk. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately, and we may delete content associated with your account subject to applicable law. Sections 4, 8, 9, 10 and 12 survive termination.

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The competent courts of Tel Aviv-Yafo, Israel shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service, except where mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence provides otherwise.

13. General

If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition or transfer of assets. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.

14. Contact

Questions about these Terms can be sent through the contact form or by email to shladov@gmail.com.
